Miller & Rosnick on behalf of Mark Arons was involved in a high-profile lawsuit involving the wrongful death of a 17-year-old boy, Mubarak Soulemane. In April 2022, the firm received notice that a report would be released that outlined findings from the investigation into the officer involved in the deadly shooting of Soulemane. Since it had been over two years since the deadly shooting, the firm faced challenges with keeping the case and Soulemane in the public eye. They needed consistent and high-quality press coverage to drive awareness of police brutality and put pressure on the system to seek justice for the Soulemane family.
Interdependence launched an aggressive media relations campaign around the release of the Attorney General’s report and investigation into the officer. Our team worked closely with the legal team and Soulemane family to tell the family’s story, and to give a voice to those who are no longer able to be heard because they are victims of wrongful death cases. Leveraging powerful messaging, strategic planning, and Interviewed Technology, we coordinated exclusive interviews, executed a press conference, and pushed out case alerts to keep media informed of new developments and bring national attention to this case.
Over the course of the 30-day campaign, the Interdependence secured over 4.6 billion media impressions across more than 50 top-tier media outlets.
